The IPD/JICA Africa Task Force Meeting: Industrial Policies for Economic Transformation

Between June 1st and 3rd, African leaders and international development policy experts engaged in development policy dialogue at the Fifth Tokyo International Conference on African Development, held in Yokohama, Japan. The focus of this year's summit was on accelerating economic growth, reducing poverty and vulnerability to economic shocks, achieving Millennium Development Goals, and promoting peace, stability and good governance throughout Africa. At the conference, IPD and the Japan International Cooperation Agency held a meeting "Industrial Policies for Economic Transformation" as a part of the IPD Africa Task Force. Topics at the meeting included rents and industrial policy, the African financial sector, and development policy proposals and goals.
