Initiative for Policy Dialogue
IPD’s Africa Task Force focuses on the special challenges facing economic development and poverty in Africa after the continent’s disappointing economic performance over the past quarter century. Many policies that have been implemented in Africa have patently failed. In light of the growing recognition of the limitations of these reforms, recent reports and initiatives, such as the Commission for Africa, the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), and the UN Millennium Project, have called for new approaches, improved aid, and better debt relief in order to spur development. The Africa Task Force is dedicated to formulating new approaches and alternative policy options for the region.
