The Initiative for Policy Dialogue, the Foundation for European Progressive Studies and Fondazione Italianieuropei coordinated a conference with the Rome Chamber of Commerce in Italy to discuss the austerity measures that the EU has debated, negotiated, and implemented in order to stabilize Europe's economy. The two-day conference consisted of several notable speakers including Ricardo Lagos, the former President of Chile, Mario Monti, Italy's Prime Minister, and several members of the European Parliament.
