IMF Conditionality Reform in Promise and Practice: What does the evidence show?

As this is the first IMF meeting since the latest Review of Program Design and Conditionality, the panel assessed the Fund’s self-reported conditionality reform in light of independent evidence and analysis. This panel incorporated academic researchers and civil society actors to consider new research on IMF fiscal conditionality reform. The event launched the global report reviewing IMF fiscal projections and reports in 189 countries Austerity: The New Normal, published by IPD, trade unions and CSOs.
