Justin Yifu Lin will give a talk based on his new book, "The Quest for Prosperity: How Developing Economies Can Take Off" at 12 noon -2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27 in Room 1512, International Affairs Building (IAB).

The book expounds on new structural economics and reflects on Professor Lin's experiences at the World Bank, as its Chief Economist during 2008-12. Professor Lin returned earlier this year to Peking University, where he had served as founding director of the China Centre for Economic Research (CCER) before joining the World Bank, as its first chief economist from a developing country.
Professor Akbar Noman will be a discussant at the event.
