Social unrest has been rising worldwide. World Protests examines over 2,800 protests between 2006-2020 in 101 countries, covering 93% of the world population. The study shows that most protests are peaceful and that their demands are in accordance with Human Rights and development goals. Protesters want better public services, jobs, living standards, democracy and civil rights. Leaders should listen to these demands and act upon them.
