Farewell to the Invisible Hand? A Global Financial System for the Twenty-First Century

IPD Co-president Joseph Stiglitz presented the 2010 David Finch Lecture on 28 July in conjunction with his visit to Australia as the inaugural speaker for the Eminent Speaker Series hosted by the Economic Society of Australia. His two part talk focused first on how the US financial sector has been functioning. Second, on the need for more and better regulation of financial markets, including the global financial system.
